Wrongful Death Cases

Wrongful Death cases I have worked on:

  • In Daniel Gutierrez et al. v. Briles Wing & Helicopter, Inc., I represented the families of two “fire jumpers” for the United States Forest Service on the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. En route to a massive fire the helicopter transporting my clients to the fire crashed, killing all aboard. After investigating the facts and filing a lawsuit, we settled all claims for a confidential sum.
  • In Donna Barnett v. United Parcel Service, Inc., I was lead counsel for the surviving family of Charles Barnett. Mr. Barnett died in an automobile accident caused by a collision with a United Parcel Service truck. On the eve of trial, we obtained a confidential settlement for the Barnett family.
  • In Mounchanthabout v. Waste Management, Inc., I represented the family of a worker crushed in a construction accident. We alleged that the defendants acted unreasonably in using underpowered equipment and in placing our client in the path of a two-ton roll of plastic liner. After a jury was selected, the defendants settled for a confidential sum.
  • In Mulvehill v. Carpenter, I was lead counsel for the family of a woman who died after being given a prescription medication by her physicians. After successfully defeating multiple attempts by the defendants to get out of the case, we reached a confidential settlement on behalf of the family shortly before trial. The victim's children received a confidential settlement funded by the drug maker, her physician, and the pharmacy responsible for dispensing the drug.
